Expert Compartmentation Surveys from Flux Fire

At Flux Fire Protection, we have highly skilled, qualified staff capable of conducting comprehensive fire compartmentation surveys. A fire compartmentation survey (also known as a fire stopping survey) helps assess a building’s compliance with requirements to contain fire and smoke and protect individuals and their escape routes.

When a Fire Risk Assessment has been conducted on your premises, one of the resulting actions could be an instruction to undertake a Fire Compartmentation Survey. This is usually the result of numerous breaches in compartmentation being highlighted within the premises, posing a high level of danger in the event of a fire.

Why Choose Flux Fire Protection?

What Our Customers Say

Don’t just take our word for it; have a look below at what some of our previous customers have to say about a partnership with Flux Fire.

What Is Fire Compartmentation?

Fire compartmentation is the process of designing and constructing a building in such a way as to prevent the spread of smoke and fire from one part of a building to another in the event of a fire. This is of particular importance when there is a higher risk to life, such as in:

  • Hotels
  • Care homes
  • Apartments
  • Flats

Compartmentation is achieved by constructing fire walls, ceilings and floors in such a way as to help prevent the spread of fire. When there is a breach in the compartmentation, for example, in door openings, service penetrations (cables, ducts, pipes) or ceiling voids, they need to be fire-stopped using compliant procedures to help prevent the spread of fire and smoke.

Advanced Evaluation Technology

As a company offering fire compartmentation surveys, we specialise in evaluating the fire safety of a building’s design and construction. Our experienced surveyors use advanced technology and techniques to assess the integrity of fire compartmentation systems, including fire-rated walls, floors, and doors, as well as penetration seals.

Identify Weaknesses

Our comprehensive fire compartmentation survey will identify any weaknesses in the compartmentation systems, providing recommendations on how to improve the building’s safety. We work closely with building owners and managers to ensure that our findings and recommendations are understood and acted upon appropriately.

Detailed Reporting

Once a fire compartmentation survey has been completed, Flux Fire Protection will provide you with a comprehensive report detailing all breaches in compartmentation with a photographic record, a geo-location pin within the building to highlight where the breach has occurred, and a fire audit report to outline any suggested remedial works to be undertaken.

Fire Compartmentation Survey FAQs

How Much Does a Fire Compartmentation Survey Cost?

As each property is unique, we don’t offer a standard fee for our fire stopping surveys. However, simply contact a member of the Flux Fire team, and we will be more than happy to provide you with an estimate.

While fire compartmentation surveys are not directly named in legislation, it is a legal requirement to maintain suitable fire stopping within your property.

Although there is no legal standard for how frequently a fire compartmentation survey should be completed, we typically recommend completing one at least once a year.
