Flux Fire Protection Provide comprehensive fire compartmentation surveys

At Flux Fire Protection we have highly skilled and qualified staff, capable of carrying out fire compartmentation surveys. A fire compartmentation survey (also know as fire stopping survey) helps to assess the building for its compliance in containing both fire and smoke and protecting individuals and their escape routes. When a Fire Risk Assessment has been conducted on your premises, one of the resulting actions could be an instruction to undertake a Fire Compartmentation Survey. This is usually the result of numerous breaches in compartmentation being highlighted within the premises, posing a high level of danger in the event of a fire.

What is fire compartmentation?

Fire compartmentation is the process of designing and constructing a building in such a way as to prevent the spread of smoke and fire from one part of a building to another in the event of a fire. This is of particular importance when there is a higher risk to life such as, hotels, care homes, apartments and flats. Compartmentation is achieved by constructing fire walls, ceilings and floors in such a way to help prevent the spread of fire. When there is a breach in the compartmentation, for example in door openings, service penetrations (cables, ducts, pipes) or ceiling voids, they need to be compliantly fire-stopped using the correct procedure to help prevent the spread of fire and smoke.

As a company offering fire compartmentation surveys, we specialise in evaluating the fire safety of a building’s design and construction. Our experienced surveyors use advanced technology and techniques to assess the integrity of fire compartmentation systems, including fire-rated walls, floors, and doors, as well as penetration seals.

Our comprehensive fire compartmentation survey will identify any weaknesses in the compartmentation systems, providing recommendations on how to improve the building’s safety. We work closely with building owners and managers to ensure that our findings and recommendations are understood and acted upon appropriately.

Once a fire compartmentation survey has been completed, Flux Fire Protection will provide you with a comprehensive report detailing all breaches in compartmentations with photographic record, a geo-location pin within the building to highlight where the breach has occurred and a fire audit report to outline any suggested remedial works to be undertaken.
